Applied Cultural Anthropology
Applied cultural anthropology uses the theories, methods, and ethnographic findings of anthropology to solve human problems. The Certificate in Applied Cultural Anthropology at CSUSB provides students with the knowledge and skills to use anthropology to make a difference in their communities and in the wider world.
Admission to the Certificate:
Consultation with a faculty advisor in anthropology is required before enrolling in upper-division courses.
Certificate requirements: ( 32-33 units)
- ANTH 102. Introduction to Anthropology: Culture and Society (4)
- ANTH 485: Applied Anthropology and Social Policy (4)
- ANTH 578. Internship in Applied Anthropology (2-5) for a total of (8)
- A minimum of twelve units of upper-division social and cultural anthropology courses chosen in consultation with an advisor.
